Visiting Taff Bargoed Climbing Centre’s community energy site in south Wales

Today, we visited the Taff Bargoed Climbing Centre in South East Wales: a climbing and community centre with a ground mounted solar panel project, set up with the help of Gwent Energy.

We were pleased to be joined by Gerald Jones, the local MP for Merthyr Tydfil.

The Centre has plowed the money it has raised from the energy generated from its panels into local grant giving to support the community, such as a local food bank.

More of these projects could and should be happening all over the country.
