Strong Turnout at the Bill’s Adjournment Debate

"I have never seen an adjournment debate with so many interventions."

Wednesday night was a huge success for the Community Energy Revolution campaign, as Ben Lake MP used a spirited and extremely well-attended Adjournment Debate to promote the Local Electricity Bill. Watch highlights of the debate below.

A remarkable and, according to House of Commons Deputy Speaker Nigel Evans, potentially record number of MPs participated, demonstrating strong cross-party support and enthusiasm for the Bill. The debate was concluded by the Energy Minister, Kwasi Kwarteng MP, who responded positively to Ben's speech and welcomed further discussion on the role of community energy in the UK's low carbon transition.

We must now continue to bring MPs on board in support and encourage already supportive MPs to promote the Bill in Parliament. Both of these aims can only be achieved if many people get involved and take action.
