Visiting Caxton House, a community energy site in north London

Today, we visited Caxton House in North London: a community energy site and community hub that hosts services and activities that engage and support local people.

We were given a tour of the retrofit, rooftop solar installation, and the latest addition, an air source heat pump. Since 2018, the Caxton House team, with support from Power Up North London, have almost halved the centre’s carbon footprint. On top of this, they continue to provide local vulnerable residents with energy advice sessions helping save energy and lower bills.

More of these projects could and should be happening all over the country.

We are campaigning to help community energy thrive: https://powerforpeople.org.uk/sign-up
