Three MPs have secured a parliamentary Backbench Business Debate to promote the Local Electricity Bill. This is an excellent opportunity: if many MPs attend and speak in favour of the Bill, it will make a strong impression on the Energy Minister and greatly help to ensure the Bill becomes law. Please ask your MP to attend the Backbench Business Debate, ‘Enabling Community Energy’, on Thursday 1st July.

Points to consider when emailing your MP
Be polite and to-the-point - your email can be a few short sentences
Say why you think the Local Electricity Bill is great and highlight the benefits it would create, e.g.
It would empower more community renewable energy
It would generate vital funding for local communities
It would reduce our climate emissions

Include your full postal address so that your MP knows you are a constituent
